Avery M. Cooper has been practicing law for over 30 years. His practice focuses on family law, estate planning, and probate and estates administration and litigation including conservatorships and guardianships. He was certified as a specialist in the field of family law by the California Board of Legal Specialization in 1991. Avery received the highest possible AV* Peer Review Rating® under the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system and has also been recognized by his peers as a California Super Lawyer in the area of divorce.
Frieda Gordon has practiced law since 1984. She was certified as a specialist in the field of family law by the California Board of Legal Specialization in 1990 and also practices in the areas of estate planning, and probate and estates administration and litigation. She also handles guardianships and conservatorships. She is a founding partner of Cooper-Gordon LLP, which currently includes three associates, a paralegal, plus four other members of the team. She is a frequent lecturer before many organizations of her peers, is past president and board member for twenty years of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists, has been a member of numerous state and local bar associations, including nearly ten years on the board of directors of the L.A. County Bar Association Family Law Section. She has authored numerous articles on topics of interest in the field of family law, including articles pertaining to tax aspects of divorce, spousal support, minor’s counsel issues and estate planning. She also has authored and testified many times before the California Legislature with regard to family law and probate legislation. Drorit Bick Raiter is an associate at Cooper-Gordon LLP, practicing in the areas of family law, probate and estate planning. She has been a member of the firm for over six years. Drorit is a graduate of UC Berkeley and Loyola Law School. She is married and speaks fluent Hebrew.
Katherine S. O'Connor was a "Blue and Gold Scholar" at UCLA. She has traveled to six continents and visited over 26 countries, including an extended stay in China where she brushed up on her knowledge of the Mandarin Chinese language. She is also scuba certified and loves animals, especially her two French Bulldogs. Katherine is in her eighth year as an associate attorney at Cooper-Gordon LLP.
Yana Rozovskaya has been a licensed family law paralegal for many years and joined our firm in 2007. Our clients and other professionals frequently comment about her ability to calm even the most agitated of situations and help solve the problems that occur every day in our busy practice. She is invaluable as a case manager and office assistant as well as unequaled in her skill at keeping the practice running efficiently. Yana also speaks fluent Russian.
Christine Donald is also a legal assistant to the attorneys in our firm. She came to California from Glasgow, Scotland and has been working for Cooper-Gordon LLP for over 25 years. Christine is an integral employee of the firm. She has been highly praised by our clients in how she handles their matters. Christine is Avery Cooper's invaluable assistant and worked with him for many years when he was a sole practitioner. Christine is also our office administrator, managing all of the attorneys' busy calendars, processing pleadings, handling the billing and insuring that our office runs smoothly and efficiently.
